RevDoc’s Revival is a curated music appreciation show on the No Agenda Stream, and is also the official Pre-Show of the popular No Agenda Podcast’s live-to-tape broadcast.
Reverend Doctor Phifer (of Two Hour Folk Hour fame) brings you the Revival every Thursday and Sunday Morning, see schedule below! The formula is pretty simple – we start with a Folk Hour, featuring folk and bluegrass music from traditional to contemporary, and gradually we plug the instruments in and add some drums and finish off with some wailing Blues and screamin’ Southern Rock. 🎸
No ads, no sponsors, no paywalls. If you get value out of the show, send some back! Whether it’s sharing the stream, sending feedback, or dropping a few satoshis in the jar—you keep the Revival rolling.
The Revival embraces the Value for Value (V4V) model in which we present the show for free and without sponsorship & ads for your listening pleasure. In return, if you find value in the Folk Hour you are encouraged to return that value in some way. This value can come in any way you can think of, but we like the 3 T’s:
(Phifer would also like to add ‘Tractors’ and old Buicks in any condition, but that doesn’t fit the alliteration).
By popular demand, you can boost the show directly through Podcasting 2.0 apps to send micropayments of bitcoin (called satoshis) over the Lightning Network. While some folks don’t like the comparison to tipping, we feel it is entirely appropriate as we are curating, rather than creating, the majority of the content. And as Gillian sang – we’d be doing it anyway.
We encourage our listeners to find ways to support artists featured on the show directly and in the spirit of V4V. We love when people reach out to us to let us know they bought tickets to see someone they first heard on the Folk Hour!
Got a tune in mind? Drop it in the chat or send an email. We love listener suggestions—as long as they fit the flow of the show!
RevDoc’s Revival is a curated journey through folk, bluegrass, blues, and southern rock. While we aren't a jukebox on autopilot, we warmly welcome song requests and obscure discoveries from listeners.
A great request builds on the arc of the broadcast—tracing the line from a traditional acoustic recording into a plugged-in blues stomper. If a song adds to the musical conversation without steering the stream off a cliff, there's a good chance you'll hear it spun on air.
Pop into the No Agenda IRC during live shows to throw your picks into the ring, or drop a line via email or Mastodon anytime during the week.
